Folly Beach

Folly Beach, SC is a coastal barrier island just a short drive from downtown Charleston. George Gershwin stayed here when he was working on Porgy and Bess and it proves inspirational today to a colony of artists and surfers. Folly is a great place for a peaceful, relaxing Carolina beach vacation. You can surf, look for shells or just laze in the sun.
